NZL wins the Julian Carter Memorial Trophy for the third consecutive time

Tuesday, 6 October 2009

The New Zealand Squad has retained the Julian Carter Memorial Trophy for the most successful trans tasman nation at the 2009 Oceania Championships. The Champs were held at a newly established outdoor venue at the Penrith White-water Stadium in New South Wales, Australia. The Australians and some visiting european masters teams provided good competition but disappointly the weather was less than ideal.

The highlight of the event was the NZ Senior Men's Team convincingly winning their final 3 - 0. This is the first time they have beaten the Australians in a formal competition since 1996.

Special congratulations to the following winning teams:

NZ Senior Men's Team

NZ U21 Men's Team

NZ U18 Men's Team

NZ U18 Women's Team
